Everything an attendance calculator should tell you
A normal calculator needs your numbers and only knows today. VMS reads your attendance from UMS, counts the classes left from your timetable, and leaves out holidays and breaks from the academic calendar.
- Classes you can skipHow many classes you can miss before the term ends and still finish at 75%, or any target you pick.
- Where you'll finish the termYour attendance today and at term end, both if you take every skip and if you attend every class.
- Every subject, side by sideNow and term-end attendance for each course, with what each one can still afford.
- First-week bonus, kept apartWhether you earned it, and your numbers with and without it, so you know what UMS will show.
- Condonation from your recordThe attendance you actually need to sit exams, worked out from your past semesters.
- Plan a leavePick the days you'll be away. Holidays and breaks are skipped automatically; only working days count.
- Pending duty leaveAdd duty leave UMS hasn't marked yet and every number updates.
- Exam eligibilityWhether you can sit every end-term exam, and which subjects need attention if not.
Every subject, now and at term end
Subjects only decide your exams if your overall falls under the cut-off. VMS shows each one anyway, with the first-week bonus as its own faint arc so you can see what it adds.

LPU attendance rules, explained
How your attendance percentage is calculated
Attendance = classes attended ÷ classes delivered × 100. Duty leave counts as attended. Your overall figure is all your attended classes over all your delivered classes, not an average of the course percentages.
The 75% rule for end-term exams
With 75% or more overall, you can sit every end-term exam, whatever each subject shows. Under 75% overall, each subject is checked on its own, and you can sit a subject's exam only if it is at 75% or more.
How many classes you can skip
Each class you miss adds one to delivered but not to attended. With A attended out of D delivered, the most you can miss in a row and stay at 75% is floor((4A − 3D) ÷ 3). Under 75%, you need 3D − 4A classes in a row to get back. Over a term with L classes left, you can skip floor(A + L − 0.75 × (D + L)) of them, which is the number VMS works out for you.
First-week bonus
Attend 90% or more of the first week's classes and that week's whole class count is added as duty leave. It raises your overall attendance; how UMS spreads it across subjects is up to UMS.
Condonation
If you fall short of 75%, LPU can excuse up to 10%, so the lowest possible cut-off is 65%. Two or more semesters done: your last two semesters are added together. Second semester of your first year: your first semester counts twice. First semester: the better of before and after mid-terms counts twice. Each semester earns 10% at 90%+, 8% at 85%+, 6% at 80%+ and 4% at 75%+, capped at 10% in total.
Attendance marks
Each course awards attendance marks: 90% or more earns 5, 85% earns 4, 80% earns 3 and 75% earns 2.
These are LPU's published rules, but they may have changed since. DSR (Department of Student Relations, 32-100) has the latest rules and the final say.
Questions
Is there an LPU attendance calculator that uses my real attendance? Yes. Verto Management System (VMS) reads your attendance from UMS when you sign in, so there is nothing to type. It counts the classes left from your timetable and the academic calendar, and tells you how many you can skip.
How is attendance calculated at LPU? Attendance is classes attended divided by classes delivered, times 100. Duty leave counts as attended. UMS shows it for each course and as one overall figure across all your courses.
How much attendance do I need at LPU? You need 75% overall attendance to sit your end-term exams. If your overall falls under that, each subject is checked on its own and needs 75% for its exam. Condonation can lower the cut-off to as little as 65%.
How many classes can I skip at LPU? With A classes attended out of D delivered, you can miss floor((4A − 3D) ÷ 3) more in a row and stay at 75%. Over a whole term it depends on how many classes are left, which VMS counts from your timetable with holidays and breaks left out.
What is the first-week bonus? If you attend 90% or more of the classes in the first week of the term, that whole week's class count is added as duty leave. VMS checks your first week from your class records and shows your numbers with and without it.
What is attendance condonation at LPU? If your attendance falls short of 75%, LPU can excuse up to 10% of it, depending on your attendance in earlier semesters. It only lets you sit exams, never raises your attendance or marks, and the university decides whether to apply it. VMS works out yours from your report card.
Is VMS safe to sign in to? Your password goes over HTTPS to LPU's own sign-in service and is never stored. VMS only reads your record; it cannot pay, submit or change anything. Signing in does sign you out of the LPU Touch app on your phone.
Is it official? No. VMS is a free, unofficial web client for LPU UMS and is not affiliated with Lovely Professional University. The rules it uses are LPU's published rules, which may have changed since; DSR (Department of Student Relations, 32-100) has the latest rules and the final say.
